CENTRAL publishes a fully revised introductory text on the New Lex Mercatoria on the TransLex web platform

The text deals with the historic origins of the Lex Mercatoria (both admiralty and general commercial law) and with the modern theory of the New Lex Mercatoria as well as the methodical foundation of the TransLex-Principles.

TransLex is a team effort at the Center for Transnational Law (CENTRAL) at the University of Cologne led by Professor Klaus Peter Berger.

The lex mercatoria and the TransLex principles are a research focus of members of the Commercial Law Centre at the University of Nottingham and their publications have been referenced in this new text (see O Toth, The Lex Mercatoria in Theory and Practice). For more details, please see our members and publications section.
