Guest editorial by Professor Irit Mevorach published on 4 April 2019 in the International Insolvency Review (IIR, Volume 28, issue 1)

The editorial provides introductory remarks to the series of articles published in this IIR volume.

The articles examine a range of pressing problems in dealing with insolvencies cases (including cross-border insolvencies and resolutions), with which developing regimes and countries in transition in particular are currently grappling. Mevorach stresses that it is indeed one of the major tasks of the international community and international organisations engaged in the insolvency field to attempt to close capacity and regulatory gaps in and among legal systems.
