Supporting Newly Arrived Migrants During Lockdown: Community Responses

Location
Online
Date(s)
Thursday 18th March 2021 (00:00)
Description

This is the second in a series of partnership events organised by icPSP (International Centre for Public and Social Policy, University of Nottingham) and NIESR (National Institute of Economic and Social Research). It is supported by the Social Policy Association (SPA).

During the event we will disseminate findings from ongoing international research on Covid-19 and school closures, and particularly on what the impact has been for newly arrived migrants in the UK and across Europe.

We will then go into a broad discussion exploring how NGOs, community organisations and local practitioners have worked with migrant and refugee pupils/students, their families and schools, and how best they can support them in the coming months. Attendees will be invited to participate in the discussion and to share their experiences and practice.

Date and time to be confirmed. See more information.
