Knowledge Exchange and Decolonial Futures in Malaysia

Dr Abida Malik had the privilege of speaking at the Islam and the World Order conference, organised by the Futures Studies Centre under the leadership of Professor Ziauddin Sardar and Professor Scott Jordan. The conference provided a significant platform for dialogue on global challenges, including Islamophobia and xenophobia. During this visit, Abida had the opportunity to meet Malaysia’s Minister for Education, Fadhlina Sidek, and the Minister for Higher Education, Zambry Abd Kadir. Following the conference, Abida was invited to an exclusive roundtable discussion with the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, where conference themes were explored further in a policy-facing context.
