EQUIP: Enhancing the Quality of User Involvement in care Planning

EQUIP is a collaborative project between the University of Manchester, The University of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust.

The study team has been awarded almost £2m by the National Institute for Health Research to examine ways to improve use and carer involvement in care planning in mental health services. A key part of the work will be the development of a user/carer-led training package for mental health professionals. The training package will be offered to up to 10 NHS Mental Health Trusts.

This project is running for five years until 2017 and will benefit service users, carers and mental health professionals.

You can find out more about the project on the EQUIP website.
