Aims

This project will develop a clinical guideline for health visitors to use to manage infants identified as at risk of developing childhood obesity.

Methods

  • To assemble a Guideline Development Group (GDG) to include all stakeholders (healthcare professionals, parents and the academic team)
  • To develop the review protocol and undertake a systematic review of behavioural interventions to reduce the risk of childhood obesity that are delivered during infancy
  • To assemble the evidence and to prepare a guideline for health visitors for identifying and managing infants at risk of obesity in conjunction with advice from national and local stakeholders
  • To pilot the acceptability of the guideline in practice with a small sample of health visitors

Outcomes and Findings

This project is now complete.
