Aims

To systematically review all research literature on midwifery led care.

Methods

Quantitative and qualitative research synthesis.

Outcomes and Findings

Midwifery led care reduces labour and birth interventions. 

Midwife led care increases women's autonomy and experience of empathic care. 

Midwife led care is cheaper than obstetric led care.
