Transport

The key safety-related policies on transport are:

Driving for Work

The Driving for Work Compliance Standard has been updated and supercedes previous guidance on driving, minibuses and use of mobile phones.

Bicycles

University policy PDF format is that bicycles must not be brought into University buildings for the following reasons:

  • Maintaining clear emergency evacuation routes at all times
  • Minimising trips hazards
  • Minimising wear and tear on buildings

The University provides a number of secure, well-lit facilities on all campuses.

All cyclists are reminded that it is a legal requirement to use front and rear lights during poor light/darkness and it is advised that reflective clothing is worn. Wearing a cycle helmet is also advised.

E-Scooters

University policy PDF format is that permission for use of privately owned e-scooters on our campuses is not granted.
