Welcome to the Faculty of Arts foundation year. Here you can find out a bit more about your foundation year and how you can prepare for starting your journey with us.

What to expect during Welcome Week

We are delighted that you have chosen to study with us, and we look forward to working with you. In due course, we look forward to meeting you in person.

Wherever your interests lie, we're sure your studies here will extend them in new directions, as well as helping you to develop your intellectual confidence and maturity.

We hope you enjoy your time at Nottingham. If you're unsure about anything in these early weeks, don't be afraid to ask questions or seek help from staff.

Your modules

Students progressing to any undergraduate degree in Modern Languages after the foundation year may need to choose 20 credits of Language Centre modules in their chosen language.

All other students will take the same six 20 credit foundation year modules and you can find more information about these on your Moodle community hub. You can access this once you have your username. Additionally, there will be an opportunity for you to ask academic staff members questions about the curriculum during Welcome Week.

Keep an eye out for an email about how to register online and receive your username and password. Once you have done so, look at your module information on Moodle.
