Extreme Environment and Novel Experimental Material Characterisation
Lighter, stronger, and more reliable aeroengine structures and components are a vital part of moving towards net zero for aviation. The UTC has experience in experimentation and modelling to develop such novel components, including in the investigation of the high temperatures materials such as superalloys and 3D additive-manufactured specimens. The team provides both testing capabilities as well as recommendations for finite element (FE) modelling of such materials and specimens.
The team’s expertise builds on a 50+ year pedigree at Nottingham, and we can offer solutions for novel and representative experimentation and predictive model development.
