Overview
This free course will combine a series of lecture-based webinars.
The first webinar will provide an introduction to mineral nutrition in ruminants and discuss mineral function and importance as well as the factors which influence mineral requirement.
The second webinar will give examples of mineral interactions in practice, discuss ways to determine mineral problems, conduct a mineral audit and interpret the data.
The third webinar will discuss how to determine the risk of mineral problems, how to take corrective action and how to monitor and assess supplementation strategies. Webinars will take a more traditional format with a presentation and opportunity for Q&A.
As part of the programme you will be also invited to take part in a workshop using a case study to practise and develop their skills of mineral audit, assessment of risk and diagnosis of mineral imbalance, development of ongoing strategies for longer-term solutions. The workshop will be in a relaxed format with small group work and a strong emphasis on delegate participation. Workshops will also be tailored to areas of interest and background to give practical benefit.
