About this event
Due to circumstances beyond our control, this webinar has been cancelled.
It has been said that data is the new oil: the most valuable resource in the world. But just as raw oil must be processed to maximise its value, so too data is of limited value unless we have the capability and capacity to refine and utilise it. Businesses - SMEs included - generate an abundance of data, but most of it simply goes unused, when it could be transformed and monetised into a powerful, decision-making tool.
Here at the University of Nottingham, our Advanced Data Analysis Centre is helping businesses to harness their data and translate it into value. But what does this actually mean in terms of real-world impact?
Consider being able to:
- analyse customer records to predict no-shows to appointments to optimise your schedule
- utilise maintenance data to automate repairs and prevent machine failures before they occur
- fine tune your stock-keeping based on predictions generated from social media data, web search trends and even weather forecasts!
- optimise your delivery routes by integrating live data, saving both time and cost
- detect and classify different types of disease by comparing hundreds of thousands of images of body scans in just a matter of days
…and this handful of examples represents just a fraction of the ways that all sorts of industries are harnessing data to optimise products, services and processes and even make brand new discoveries.
Join us to discover the scale of the opportunity data presents to your business.
Funding opportunity
Thanks to a small internal pot of funding, we are able to offer one SME the opportunity to receive up to 10 days of work from our Advanced Data Analysis Centre on a specific data problem or project on a fully funded basis. Further information about how to apply for this opportunity will be provided at the webinar. Companies must attend the webinar to be eligible for this opportunity.
