Profile
I am an Associate Professor within the School of Geography, at the University of Nottingham. I have a BSc in Geography from Durham University and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Nottingham.

My research interests are focused in the area of geographic representation and visualisation. This includes landscape visualisation; technologies for augmenting reality; GPS-enabled mobile computing and locative media; Digital Heritage applications; geospatial models; Geo-Art collaborations.

Current project - Mayson's Ordnance Model of the Lake District

(and 'The Grandest Views' exhibition).

My teaching interests lie mainly in the areas of geographic representation, visualisation and computer programming. I am Director of the MSc in Geographical Information Science. I was site manager for the Nottingham arm of the HEFCE-funded Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) SPLINT (SPatial Literacy IN Teaching) during the project's 5 years (2005 - 2010) and was on the management group of the Visual Learning Lab , also a CETL, over the same period.
