Buses between Nottingham and Derby

**There are two non-stop services between QMC and Derby bus station: The Red Arrow (operated by Trent Barton) and Citylink (operated by Your Bus).

Buses from Nottingham train station

For University Park campus, the bus stops closest to the train station are Broadmarsh bus station (for Trent Barton’s Indigo services) or Canal Street (for Nottingham City Transport’s 14 service).

For Jubilee campus, take any of the services listed above that start from the city. They depart from the northern side of the city centre, so you may want to use the free Centrelink bus to get around the city centre.

Buses from Beeston train station

For University Park campus or Jubilee campus, the bus stop closest to the train station is ‘Beeston Rylands, adj Laburnum Grove’ (on Meadow Road) for Trent Barton’s route 18 service.

Alternatively, the more frequent Indigo service operated by Trent Barton goes from ‘Beeston (Notts), opp Queens Road’ (on Station Road) – a 5 minute walk from the train station.

Buses from East Midlands Airport

There is a 24 hour Skylink bus service from East Midlands Airport to Nottingham City Centre. Buses run every 30 minutes until 8pm, then hourly until 5am when the half hourly service resumes. The service goes past the University Park Campus (on route to Nottingham Broadmarsh bus station) and goes to Sutton Bonington (on route to Loughborough).

Taxis

Avoid rogue and unlicensed taxi drivers - Nottingham City Council licenses two types of vehicles - Hackney Carriages and Private Hire vehicles. If you get into a Private Hire car without pre-booking it (that is - you stop it or find it in the street) you may not be covered by insurance. Private Hire drivers call this 'flying' and they know they are breaking the law. If you are involved in an accident you will experience difficulty in claiming for any damage or injuries.
