Richard joined the School of Economics in 2001 as a Research Fellow in the Centre for Globalisation and Economic Policy and became an Associate Professor in 2007. Before coming to Nottingham, he worked as a Senior Research Officer at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research. He completed his Ph.D from the University of Nottingham in 1998 on fiscal policy and economic growth.
