Professor Graham Hutton with his Haskell textbook
The first year module, G51FUN Functional Programming, has been turned into a free massive open online course (MOOC) with more than 30,000 participants. The module teaches the basic principles of functional programming, using the leading-edge language Haskell. The course was developed by Professor Graham Hutton, Director of Research, and co-leader of the Functional programming research group at the School.
