Is your university work stressing you out? Do you sometimes feel like you are reaching boiling point?

Nottingham Recovery College is offering free mental health wellbeing workshops for students, to help you relax, destress and improve your health.

The following four workshops will take place at University Park campus during February and March:

  • Five Ways to Wellbeing
    2-4pm, Wednesday 14 February. LG14, Trent Building.
Connect, Take Notice, Keep Learning, Be Active and Give – these are the five ways to wellbeing. Evidence suggests that taking these five steps can improve your sense of mental wellbeing and may help you to feel happier and more fulfilled. During the sessions we will explore each of the five areas and consider any areas you could work on to improve your wellbeing.
  • Positive Thinking
    2-4pm, Wednesday 28 February. C7, Trent Building.
Come and explore the power of positive thinking. By thinking more positively we can improve how we feel about ourselves and the way we think and feel about situations in our lives. This course will look at research to suggest just how powerful positive thinking can be, and some techniques and strategies to improve our own positive outlook.
  • Thinking Differently
    2-4pm, Wednesday 14 March. C5a, Trent Building.
This introductory course looks at identifying and understanding thoughts that can impact negatively on the things you would like to do in life. It considers ways to challenge our thinking, offers skills and techniques that may help you do, think and feel about things in another way that is more positive.
  • Eating Well on a Budget
    2-4pm, Wednesday 28 March. C7, Trent Building.
Whether you’re cooking for one or feeding a family, this fun and informal course in the style of ‘Ready Steady Cook’ aims to increase your knowledge and equip you with the skills and confidence to shop smart and create home cooked foods for less whilst maintaining a healthy, balanced diet.

Places on these courses are open to all students, but advance booking is essential.

You can book your place on a workshop using any of the following methods:
