ESRC writing competition 2016 is now live

This year’s ESRC Writing Competition ‘Making Sense of Society’, in partnership with SAGE Publishing, is now live.

The competition challenges ESRC-funded students to write about how their research is making sense of society and why their research matters.  Our judges will be looking for an original article of no more than 800 words, written at a level that an interested member of the public could understand, while conveying the importance of the research topic.

The winner will receive a cash prize of £1,000, and two runners up will be awarded prizes of £500 each.  Entries are invited from ESRC-funded students (current or from the past four years). The closing date for entries is 16:00 GMT on 30 November 2016.

Full information about the competition, including entry terms and conditions can be found at www.esrc.ac.uk/writingcomp
