The Nottingham Geospatial Institute (NGI) offers a number of individual short courses that are delivered as modules arranged as intensive one-week teaching blocks. They consist of lectures, seminars and practical exercises. We also offer 1-day courses which can be delivered as condensed versions of the weekly modules or individual components. We also offer courses tailored to specific requirements delivered either on our own premises at the University of Nottingham or at an appropriate venue offsite.

Short course structure

Short courses are modular in nature and are taken from the University of Nottingham MSc programme. They consist of a 5-day timetable of lectures, seminars and practical exercises. These courses do not form part of any qualification and there are no exams. Students are presented with a certificate of attendance on completion of the course.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. However, to obtain full benefit from the lectures, candidates will need a suitable background in the subject area.
