Dr Muhammad Shakeel Ahmad conducts archival research at the British Library

In November 2015, the Institute of Asia and Pacific Studies awarded funding to visiting research fellow Dr Muhammad Shakeel Ahmad to support his archival research at the British Library, for his research project, 'Local-colonial power relations and emergence of identity politics: colonization of local power structure and formation of 'hazarawal' as a political identity in north western British India'.

Dr Ahmad travelled to London to consult archival sources from the British Library in December 2015 and January 2016. During these two visits he consulted 97 archival sources [pdf] in support of his research.
