IAPS PhD student awarded funding from Universities' China Committee in London

The Institute of Asia and Pacific Studies is pleased to report that Freddie Stephenson, IAPS/History-funded PhD student at Nottingham, has just received external research funding from the Universities' China Committee in London.

The award of £1500 will go to underwrite his archival work in Hong Kong and Shanghai, pertinent to his study of the civil and medical topography of both cities in the 19th century. The awarding committee complimented the strength of his project and the coherence of his research plan.
