An improved method for checking for salmonella in poultry

Our work on the immune response of poultry and pigs to salmonella has led to the development of commercial kits, used worldwide and endorsed by the World Health Organisation, for monitoring salmonella infection in poultry.

This has been central to the raft of measures introduced by the UK and European governments that has led to a huge reduction in salmonella cases in European poultry.
