Davis Tan wins senior moot competition

Davis Tan has won the senior moot competition, contested by 2nd and final year undergraduate students.

The hard fought final was judged by Dominic Nolan QC of Ropewalk Chambers, who once again generously supported the competition.

Davis narrowly defeated fellow finalists Stephanie Chan, Harry Chan Hey and Joan Tan, who all performed excellently, with clear and concise submissions on a difficult problem of criminal law.

Richard Hyde, Lecturer in Law, said, “This was an excellent final, closely fought and well-argued by all. Everyone who took part should be congratulated, with particular congratulations to Davis Tan, who was a worthy winner.

Thanks should go to Dominic Nolan QC for judging the final and providing excellent feedback to the finalists, which will no doubt prove useful to them throughout their future careers. The support of Ropewalk Chambers throughout the completion has been excellent. The Mooting Society should also be thanked for their outstanding organisation of the competition.”
