Current Research

Lea's current research investigates the legal barriers to phasing out fossil fuels in the Global South, and her case study is the booming fossil fuel industry in Mozambique. At the University of Nottingham, she is a tutor for Law of the European Union and a research assistant on development law for Annamaria La Chimia and on intergenerational equity for Aoife Nolan.

She collaborates with the International Institute for Sustainable Development and the International Institute for Environment and Development. She also works on Climate Justice and teaches EU Law. Previously she worked on climate justice for the Sustainable Development Observatory at the European Economic and Social Committee and environmental mediation for the Milan Chamber of Arbitration. She is also one of the founders of the Sustainable Development Watch, the academic platform of the LL.M. in Sustainable Development at the University of Milan.
