Sarker Afif holds dual qualifications as a barrister (non-practising) in the UK and as an advocate of the High Court Division in Bangladesh. Prior to joining the University of Nottingham, he has worked with a broad range of clients across the Technology, Media & Entertainment industries advising on intellectual property, commercial and corporate issues, as well as digital rights and licensing. He also acted as one of the key member of several arbitration proceedings relating to commercial property disputes. Afif's research area is training of generative artificial intelligence models and copyright law.
