Responsibility Without Authorship
The thesis is intended to address questions surrounding attribution of moral and criminal responsibility for events and states of affairs one does not directly bring about. It will include an analysis of underlying principles of responsibility in the contexts of omissions, secondary participation in another's wrongdoing and the problem of collective wrongdoing. Most generally, the doctorate will focus on the question of proper relationship between moral blame, the authority of law and individuals as independent members of society.
