The East Midlands local group of the Royal Statistical Society will hold a meeting at the University of Nottingham on Thursday 8th October.
The guest speaker will be Prof. David Firth (University of Warwick), who will speak on the topic "Journal rankings: Why (and how) should we care?" His talk will be accessible to anyone with an interest in bibliometrics and related topics, including non-academics.
Tea/coffee will be available from 5:30pm and Prof. Firth's talk will be at 6:15pm.
