Important information for applicants
Deposits for taught postgraduate courses
This message only applies to non EEA nationality, overseas applicants starting a full time taught postgraduate course (MA, MSc, PG Dip, PGCert etc.).
For 2013 entry, all postgraduate taught course applicants are required to pay a tuition fee deposit of £1,000 before a CAS (confirmation of acceptance for studies) can be issued. This deposit must be paid before the start of your course. For details please take a look at our deposits FAQs. You also need to have an unconditional firmly accepted offer to qualify for a CAS.
We cannot issue a CAS after the course start date.
Please note that from 2014 entry onwards our tuition fee deposit will be £2,000 and must be paid before a CAS can be issued. All non EEA nationality or overseas applicants, who wish to defer starting a full time taught postgraduate course (MA, MSc, PG Dip, PGCert etc.) from 2013 to 2014 entry, will be required to pay the £2,000 deposit before their deferral can be processed. Requests to defer must be made within three months of the original start date of the course.
CAS deposit waiver for sponsored students
The University will waive the deposit requirement for students who are fully sponsored by a recognised sponsor.
If you are fully sponsored for your course fees, you must submit a copy of your sponsorship letter in order for the deposit to be waived.
Submit your sponsorship letter to:
firstname.lastname@example.org quoting your full name and application ID number.
Please note that if a sponsorship letter is not received, you will be required to pay the deposit before a CAS can be issued (for unconditional offer holders).
The University will only accept sponsorship letters from recognised sponsors (overseas governments, international businesses, universities, trusts and charities etc) and not from friends/family members. For any questions relating to your sponsorship and deposit requirements, please contact: email@example.com
