Retired Pharmacists visit the School of Pharmacy

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society Retired Pharmacists visit  took place on 4th December, 2013, at the School of Pharmacy, University of Nottingham.

  • The 'It wasn't like this in your day!' schedule started when the participants were met by Mrs Katherine Tallant, our Director of Operations.
  • This was followed by an 'Introduction to the School and the new MPharm course' presentation by Dr Stephanie Allen, our Director of Teaching and Learning.
  • Students accompanied guests to the Cardiovascular case study workshops, held in the Medical School, and then  the visitors were given a tour of the Pharmacy Building, which included labs, teaching pharmacies and the dispensary.
  • Lunch was provided in the foyer of the Boots Science Building with School of Pharmacy staff and members of the student Pharmacy Society.
  • The visitors attended a presentation by Prof Michael Randall and also a Q&A session on the Teaching Methods on the MPharm including how these link to GPhC learning outcomes.

Katherine Tallant says "Thank you all very much for your contributions to the success of today’s visit. Everyone had a brilliant day, greatly appreciated our hospitality, the time taken in preparing such an interesting programme, being able to meet staff and students and sit-in on some teaching. They were unanimous in their praise and very impressed with our new programme and plans for the future. Plans are underway to involve them in the School in the future."
