We are grateful to the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Education Trust, University of Manchester, particularly Jacqui Ould and Sam Kalubowila. The Trust was created in 2001. It grew out of the work of the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Resource Centre, founded in Manchester in 1999, and aims to work with educators to foster an anti-racist educational culture.
Thanks are also due to the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), in particular Melissa Atkinson and other staff at the Library, Friends House, Euston Road, London.
