Thermal spray deposition of graphene for improved wear resistance coatings

Project being carried out by Dr Federico Venturi on the development of an injection method to incorporate graphene into thermal sprayed coatings in order to improve the tribological properties. Click here for more information about the project.
 

 

Next generation of Environmental Barrier Coatings (EBC) from suspension thermal spray

PhD project being developed by Daniel Tejero-Martin on the development of environmental barrier coatings for the protection of ceramic matrix composites (CMC) from novel thermal deposition techniques such as suspension high velocity oxy-fuel. Click here for more information about the project.
 

 

Tribology of thermal sprayed nanocomposite coatings for ultra-low wear in aero engines

PhD project being carried out by Kerem Derelizade on the incorporation of 2D materials such as graphene into ceramic and cermet coatings using suspension and solution precursor thermal spraying techniques, aiming to reduce the wear. Click here for more information about the project.
 

 

Next generation multi-layered thermal barrier coatings for CMAS resistance

PhD project being developed by Kah L. Leng on the development of a new composition of thermal barrier coating (TBC) through liquid feedstock based on suspension or solution precursor thermal spray for better durability beyond 1200 °C. Click here for more information.
 

 

Development of a novel silicon carbide thermal spraying process
