New Community Networks project

A team led by Dr Alessio D’Angelo (icPSP) and including Dr Elena Genova and Dr Will Paterson (Sociology) is starting a new project on ‘Community Networks in (Post) Pandemic Urban Spaces’. The project is funded through the Research England Participatory Research programme, and is run in partnership with colleagues at London Metropolitan University.

Bringing together expertise in the fields of urbanism, social network analysis, sociology and social policy, this partnership aims to: enable interdisciplinary knowledge-exchange; support the co-production of local data and insights, using innovative participatory methodologies; and promote the development of community-based initiatives to improve local lives and facilitate a socially just urban recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.

This is a pilot study which will include preliminary work in Nottingham and in two areas in South London, where the team will gather local knowledge, co-develop community mapping methodologies, and identify priorities for local impactful activities.

Further details will be advertised in due course; meanwhile, for further information please contact Dr Alessio D’Angelo (alessio.dangelo@nottingham.ac.uk)
