Stay One Step Ahead Project wins a Children and Young People Now Award for 2021

Congratulations to the Stay One Step Ahead Project which has won a Children and Young People Now Award for 2021 in the Advice and Guidance Category. The award recognises the initiative that has done the most to reach and provide young people with information and support in making sound life choices.

The Stay One Step Ahead Project co-produced an evidence-based home safety programme for families with young children, working with parents, professionals and the Child Accident Prevention Trust. The programme has been provided to more than 4000 families in 4 wards in Nottingham, working in partnership with Nottingham CityCare’s Children’s Public Health 0-19 Nursing Service (Health Visiting Teams), Family Mentors and Children’s Centres.

The evaluation of the programme shows it significantly improves home safety for families taking part. Stay One Step Ahead is funded by the Big Lottery via the Small Steps Big Changes programme.
