Bronze medal for Nottingham's James Kadziak at BUCS Sprint Triathlon

James Kadziak B

Following up on a very successful Biathlon back in term, University of Nottingham Triathlon club travelled to Tetbury on 1 May to compete in the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Sprint Triathlon.

The #GreenandGold were well represented at the event, with over 30 runners flying the flag for the University of Nottingham. The most notable of these athletes was James Kadziak who came away with a medal. James is a member of the club’s Performance Squad and races internationally for Poland.

Taking on the best UK university athletes at Westonbirt School last weekend, James proved himself to also be highly adept in all three disciplines, put together strong performances in all three races to finish in third place and earn a well-deserved bronze medal. After the race, James reflected on his performance saying that "BUCS was a really positive racing experience with a great atmosphere throughout the whole day. The pace was fast from beginning to end and I’m thankful for the support from my teammates which helped me push all the way to the finish. In the end I’m really pleased to get on the individual podium."

We congratulate James on his success and wish him the very best as he focuses on the Caorle European Cup next weekend. From 12th to 14th of May, the Caorle European Cup) or European Triathlon Cup), is an international competition for World Triathlon and Europe Triathlon organisations. There will be many athletes from all over Europe ready to challenge each other in the classic three specialties that make up this Olympic discipline: swimming, cycling and running. This event is the European Junior Qualifier event for the Junior World Championships.
