To help you complete all the essentials you need to be ready to start your programme, follow our simple checklist.
All these actions need to be completed before you arrive, and as early as possible. Please do these straight away if you can.

Complete your Occupational Health Questionnaire
This has been sent to you by email from our occupational health company Optima Health. It is extremely important that Optima Health receive your completed questionnaire as soon as possible. If you complete your form late it could affect your registration on the programme. If you have not received your email from Optima Health, please email them to uon@optimahealth.co.uk and request that the link to your personalised questionnaire is resent.
Complete your DBS form.
You have already been contacted by our placements team with details of how to request your DBS clearance. It is extremely important that you apply for your DBS check as soon as possible. If you complete your form late it could affect your registration on the programme.
Order your uniform
You will need your uniform for all your placements, you can access the order form once you have registered online. By ordering early you can reduce the risk of any delays later. The cost of your uniform is covered by the school, and there is no cost to you unless you choose to buy extra. Our uniform page tells you about the uniform and dress code for your study and links to the order form.

Other essentials
- You will need access to a computer or laptop to participate in lessons and to complete online learning.
- You do not need to buy any textbooks, and all our recommended reading is available from the university library, either as physical books or as e-books and online resources.

- We will provide you with the uniforms that you need for placements. However, you will need shoes to wear with your uniform and may need some other items of clothing depending on the programme you are studying. You can find out more on our uniforms page.

It is important to note, when you accept an offer of a place at the University of Nottingham, the university and you form a legally binding contract. The university’s offer to you may contain specific conditions that you must meet before you can take up a place on a programme at the university. If you meet the conditions of your offer, you can complete registration at the university in accordance with the university’s offer and the terms of this contract.
