Vet Essentials - Laminitis and colic - a new documentary series on Horse & Country TV

Horse-and-Country-TV

Filming at the Nottingham Vet School for Vet Essentials

Vet Essentials – Laminitis and colic are two diseases every horse owner should know about.  A new dedicated documentary series will take an in-depth look at each of these conditions.  Don’t miss it.

An important new veterinary advice series - Vet Essentials –will premiere in July on Horse & Country TV (Sky 280 and online with H&C TV Everywhere) focusing on some of the most commonly encountered and debilitating equine diseases - laminitis, Cushing’s and colic.  Put the dates in your diary now:

• 23rd July at 9.00pm – Laminitis

• 30th July at 9.00pm – Cushing’s disease and the link with laminitis

• 6th August at 9.00pm - Colic

Sponsored by the national disease awareness initiative ‘Talk About Laminitis’ the informative three-part series will follow Horse & Country TV’s Jenny Rudall as she investigates each condition. Jenny will gain an understanding from world leading veterinary experts about laminitis and the latest thinking on this serious condition; she will unravel the link between laminitis and Cushing’s disease and finally take an in-depth look at colic and how vets respond to this equine emergency.

The first two Vet Essentials’ episodes covering laminitis and Cushing’s disease are being broadcast coinciding with the ‘Talk About Laminitis’ disease awareness initiative, which runs until the end of October to raise awareness of the link between laminitis and Cushing’s disease.  Once again, free Cushing’s test laboratory fees* are available from now until the end of October, so owners of laminitic horses and ponies can determine if Cushing’s is the cause.  If your horse tests positive for Cushing’s, the disease can then be treated and managed appropriately to avoid future painful and debilitating episodes.

For further information, please contact your veterinary surgeon and visit www.talkaboutlaminitis.co.uk to download your free test voucher*.  You can also follow ‘Talk About Laminitis’ on Facebook to keep up to date with all the latest news.
