Senior Teaching Technician, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences
Erica's first technical position was as a necropsy technician at a medical research company in the West Midlands. Here, she undertook duties in the pathology department associated with general toxicology and reproductive studies. Following a move to the South East, Erica then trained and qualified as a Registered Hearing Aid Audiologist. This involved testing patients' hearing, prescribing appropriate hearing aids, and providing subsequent aftercare.
She then returned to a technical position in what was originally a temporary role at the Royal Veterinary College's Camden campus. A keen interest in Veterinary Anatomy and it's teaching lead her to the newly formed vet school here at Nottingham University.
Erica leads the team responsible for the running of dissection practicals. This includes staff and student safety, sourcing and preparation of material, including prosections and display pieces. This team is also responsible for the cadaver surgery and museum facilities. Erica is responsible for the health and safety issues in the dissection/surgical wing of the clinical building and sits on the School Safety Committee. Other committees Erica sits on include the Staff Student Feedback Committee and Technical Services Networking Committee. Erica is also a member of the Institute of Anatomical Sciences
