21F.405 Germany Today: Intensive Study of German Language & Culture (MIT)
Prepares students for working and living in German-speaking countries. Focus on current political, social, and cultural issues, using newspapers, journals, TV, radio broadcasts, and Web sources from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Emphasis on speaking, writing, and reading skills for professional contexts. Activities include: oral presentations, group discussions, guest lectures, and interviews with German speakers. Texas Tech Researcher Documents New Arachnid
Texas Tech researcher James Cokendolpher, a research scientist and assistant curator of invertebrates at The Museum of Texas Tech University, is investigating a newly discovered arachnid. Parobisium yosemite was discovered a couple of years ago in a cave in Yosemite National Park. This cave-dewlling species is considered unique because it is able to live in granite rockfalls instead of limestone caves where most other species live.
