Profile 2011, the Alfred University School of Art & Design's annual NYC art show, was at the Gem Hotel Chelsea in Manhattan from Wednesday, June 9 through Saturday, June 23. A total of 27 BFA artists had work exhibited. This presentation by Prof. Adam Ockelford was delivered at the 2011 Human Sciences Symposium on The Musical Brain held on 26 February in Oxford. It focuses on case studies of blind and autistic children.
Professor Mark Behrens reviews in more detail and touches on key elements of his research that the students in video (Student Presentation #5) discussed. In describing his work, Behrens offered "think of looking through color filters." The filters eliminate any unnecessary or unforeseeable data, and when you combine all the filters together, the yield reveals amazing overlaps and patterns.
