Introduction to Music Theory
This course introduces the basic concepts and terms needed to discuss melody and harmony. It is intended for teens or adults with no background in music theory but some familiarity with reading common notation and playing an instrument (or singing). Concepts covered include interval, major and minor keys and scales, triads and chords.
Easy Integration of Science and Music
Lesson ObjectiveStudents create a rondo using concepts they learned in science. Questions to ConsiderSee Ms. Griffin reinforce science learning into her music lesson with this easy, effective ideaBeyond the focus on core subjects, why is it helpful to make such cross-curricular connections? How could this cross-curricular idea be applied to any subject area?

Northeastern Men's Basketball Press Conference - vs. Drexel - Feb. 1, 2012
Northeastern men's basketball head coach Bill Coen meets with the media following Northeastern's 61-53 loss to Drexel on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at Matthews Arena in Boston.
Episode 117: Flavors of democracy: United States' ambitions in the Middle East Personalisation Adult Learning 1.1 Leeds General Infirmary To explore care in the setting of an acute hospital, I visited Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) in the winter of 1996. The hospital provides a service of medical and surgical care for local people and, because it is a specialist teaching hospital with a medical school attached, patients are referred from all over the region for specialist advice, treatment and care. The hospital occupies a bewilderingly large, sprawling site in the centre of Leeds. It is a mix of the old and the new, and at the Blast on Humvee from an IED The impact of example comparisons on schema acquisition: Do learners really need multiple examples? This activity explores the concept of personalisation, considering where it has originated from in education and what it might mean in a higher education context.
This activity explores the nature of adult learning, often termed "andragogy", and how it differs from children's learning (pedagogy).
Simulation created using the CFD code named CEBAM (Computational Explosion And Blast Assessment Model). CEBAM is capable of simulating blast loads from high explosive, vapor clouds, and bursting vessels. Blast loading on a Humvee from an IED detonated near the vehicle. Comparing multiple examples within problem categories is usually considered a necessary prerequisite for schema acquisition. However, there is an evident lack of conclusive empirical evidence supporting this claim. Moreover, there are findings indicating that carefully designed one-example conditions may allow for profitable processes of example comparison as well. In line with this reasoning, we present an experiment - that builds up on a series of studies conducted by Quilici and Mayer (1996)
To be effective in higher education, text messaging must be effectively integrated into both the student and staff experience. These user groups provided input into the design of StudyLink, an email to text message service. A small-scale trial was conducted over a period of two academic terms to investigate the feasibility of using this system in a real educational setting. Students reported high satisfaction with the quantity and content of the text messages and tutors reported changes in behav

This is a copper-aluminium bronze containing 10 wt% aluminium. A small amount of iron is often added to act as a grain refiner to improve the mechanical properties. Alloys with more than 8 wt% aluminium solidify as the β phase. Below about 930°C, Widmanstätten α phase precipitates. At the eutectoid temperature (565°C) the remaining β decomposes to a lamellar eutectoid of α and β. Rapid cooling from the high temperature β phase can form martensite instead of Widmanstätten α. The author takes a semi-serious look at the world of computers, robots and androids in an attempt to find a recipe for the perfect machine. Described in this article are the possible attributes of the perfect machine and some of the problems it might raise

If a gas is injected into a liquid it forms a cellular foam structure. When a thermoset prepolymer of low viscosity is foamed, the polymer can drain from the cell walls (driven by surface tension) before it sets at the cell edges, leaving an open-celled foam. The cell edges have three concave sides, giving rise to the tri-cuspid cross section visible at the bottom of this image. The average co-ordination number for the nodes (where struts meet) is four, giving tetrahedral junctions.

Arteries and veins are blood vessels and are part of the circulatory system. Arteries take oxygenated blood away from the heart and veins bring blood back to the heart after it has circulated through the body. The circulatory system distributes oxygen to the body and also moves around nutrients.
