Discovering Devonian Microfossils
Microfossils are small, fossilized remains of organisms (animal, plant, or protozoa) that require magnification for study. They usually derive from the hard parts of organisms (skeletons, shells, jaws, teeth, seed coverings, etc), and may be imbedded in rock or exist as loose particles within soft substrate. Research studies of microfossils provide insights into ecological and evolutionary relationships among plant and animal communities that existed on earth hundreds of millions of years ago. M
Artemia observation
This organism is microscopic and does not cause disease and can be beneficial as a food source for other aquatic animals. A mm square grid is used to observe the measure of length of this organism.

Stratospheric Ozone level for October 7, 1986.
Frequency
In this interactive activity adapted from the University of Utah's ASPIRE Lab, learn about the frequency and period of an oscillating object. Vary the time it takes a child to jump up and down on a trampoline to see how that changes the frequency of the jumping motion. Next, change the period of a pendulum by adjusting the length of its string and see the mathematical relationship between period and frequency. Finally, see how the electromagnetic spectrum consists of a range of frequencies.

Computer Activities, Physical Exercise, Aging, and Mild Cognitive Impairment:
By: WentzMR Dr. Yonas Geda, a physician scientist at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA, discusses his article appearing in the May 2012 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings. The study shows a synergistic interaction between computer use and moderate physical exercise in being associated with a decreased odds of having mild cognitive impairment, the intermediate stage between normal aging and dementia.

Global View of the Seasons (Interactive)
By measuring subtle differences in light that result from varying concentrations of plant life around the world, scientists are able to better understand Earth. These false-color images provided by the Sea-viewing Wide Field-of-view Sensor (SeaWiFS) Project provide visual representations of the concentrations of plant life in the oceans and on land. In this interactive activity produced for Teachers' Domain, learn how the distribution of Earth's vegetation changes over the seasons.
How Hurricanes Form (Interactive)
Meteorologists have gone to great lengths to identify the atmospheric conditions that trigger hurricanes. The list of ingredients is fairly short: warm ocean temperatures, lots of moisture in the middle and upper atmosphere, and light winds in the upper atmosphere. In this animation from NASA, learn about the conditions necessary for the creation of a hurricane.

The Emergence of a Digital Money Ecosystem - Irving Wladawsky-Berger, PhD Visiting Lecturer, MIT Eng We are in the early stages of a very important transformation—the transition to a digital money ecosystem. This transformation is likely to be among the most exciting, important, and challenging initiatives the world will undertake in the coming decades. The transformation involves more than the transformation of money (cash, checks, credit and debit cards, etc.) from physical to digital objects that we will carry in our smart mobile devices. It en
About the Presentation
Management Information Systems for Supply Chain Management Where can you stand to get a good view of the supply chain? Nowhere. That's the problem. MIT and industry sponsors have launched the HI-Viz Supply Chain project. The goal is to automatically extract data from corporate data bases to draw board-ready pictures of the supply chain. These include both a left-to-right network flow diagram and a global map of the supply chain. Once these "vanilla" pictures have been created, we can then visually overlay various performance metrics such as cost buil
