The Bottom Line - Looking Back: Environmental Impacts of Genetically Engineered Crops
A world-renowned expert on the ecological impacts and management of genetically engineered crops, University of Arizona professor Yves Carrière presented the findings of a recent National Academy of Sciences report on the sustainability impacts of genetically engineered crops in the United States. He also discussed the scientific record from the global use of herbicide- and insect-resistant crops, which were designed to reduce the use of pesticides, improve yields and provide economic benefits

The process of absorption is a cellular process (microscopic). Absorption cells line the stomach and intestine walls and allow small nutrients (broken down from the food we eat) to pass through and into our blood. The process of absorption is much like a leaking balloon filled with water. The balloon is the stomach or intestine, the tiny holes are the absorption cells, and the water is nutrients leaving.
