The IBM ACS System: A Pioneering Supercomputer Project
[Recorded February 18, 2010]
The showcase IBM effort at high-performance computing in the 1960's has traditionally been considered the IBM S/360 Model 91. That machine well deserves the attention it has received. In fact, in the field of computer architecture, the 1960s are known for the CDC 6600 and the IBM Model 91, and many modern processors trace features back to those machines.
However, there was another relatively unknown IBM effort that operated in parallel with the deployment of the Mod

3.2 The project plan Although there are many approaches to planning a project, there are seven elements that are normally included in a project plan: a work breakdown structure to show separate tasks and activities; the team structure and responsibilities of key people; an estimate of effort and duration for each task; a schedule to show the sequence and timing of activities; details of resources to be al
2.2 The classic six-stage project management model This model also consists of stages, but, unlike the sequential flow of the project life-cycle, the six-stage model assumes that some stages are carried out simultaneously. In particular, the model (Figure 3) assumes that communications will take place throughout the project. It also assumes that team building, leading and motivation will take place once the project has been defined and continue until it ends. This website is a blog (The Ancient World Online - AWOL) published by Charles Ellwood Jones and listing several open access e-journals relevant to ancient studies. It is constantly updated and new additions are posted regularly. In addition to accessing the e-journals directly, it is also possible to search several of them through JURN (based on Google). Both researchers and students may find useful to follow the blog and have a handy list of links ready to use.
