UW alum Fran Bigelow is the founder of Fran's Chocolates, a local artisan chocolate shop that's turned into a national phenomenon.
Approximately 500 middle and high school students from the Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement, or MESA, program came to the UA campus to test designs they created for competitions. They made water bottle rockets, prosthetic arms, windmill wind energy projects, water harvesting models, self cooling hats and paper bridges. Raytheon engineers were on hand to offer feedback.
