2 Operations, operations management and operations managers
Operations management is one of the central functions of all organisations whether producing goods or services, or in the private, public or voluntary sectors. This unit will provide you with a basic framework for understanding this function and discusses the role of operations managers, in particular the importance of focusing on suppliers and customers.
WildLinAlg12: Generalized dilations and eigenvectors
This video introduces the important idea of changing coordinates in Linear Algebra. A linear transformation can be described using many different matrices, depending on the underlying coordinate system, or ordered basis, which is used to describe the space.
The simplest case is when the linear transformation is in diagonal form. Finding such a diagonal form requires finding the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of a matrix, which we introduce in this video. We also discuss change of basis matrices.
WildLinAlg10: Equations of lines and planes in 3D
This video shows how we work with lines in the plane and planes in 3D space in Linear Algebra. A line in 2D is represented by a linear equation in x and y, a plane in 3D by a linear equation in x,y and z. Both can also be described in parametric form. It is important to be able to change from a Cartesian to a parametric form.
The space of all lines in the plane has a curious connection with the Mobius band. Lines in 3D are somewhat trickier to describe since they require two linear equations.

Stalin’s Rise to Power Why did the General Strike not Succeed? The First World War: The Central Powers 6.2 Experiencing complexity as mess or difficulty In this section, I want to take the ideas of mess and difficulty and explore them in the context of complexity. I want to determine how these ideas are connected, how significant the connections are and what the differences illuminate. I shall draw on the ideas of three writers: Schön, whose central theme is practice (e.g. Schön, 1983; 1987); Ackoff, who explores the characteristics of mess; and Rosenhead, who shows how different approaches to practice may be contrasted in terms tha 5.7 Being ethical As outlined in Table 2, ethics within systemic practice are perceived as operating on multiple levels. Like the systems concept of hierarchy, what we perceive to be good at one level might be bad at another. Because an epistemological position must be chosen, rather than taken as a given, the choice involves taking responsibility. The choices made have ethical implications. Within systematic practice ethics and values are g 3.1 Protein diversity Of course, our bodies can't just be made up of squidgy bubbles of phospholipid, or we would collapse in a heap on the floor! Stiffer frameworks, both inside and outside the cells, also exist and help to define shape and add strength. These frameworks are formed largely from structural proteins, a class of polymeric materials that form fibres and filaments to provide mechanical support for cells and tissues. Structural proteins are made inside cells but are often then moved into the spa 4.5.2 Thermal effects Wikis in Plain English Spartan Sagas: Linda Nelson Westward Expansion ECB, BoE hold low interest rates JFK at the Boston Garden Episode 10, Part 2 Making a GAMBIT Game

This extract is concerned primarily with the chemistry that underpins the operation of the three-way catalytic converter that is placed in the exhaust systems of motor vehicles in order to reduce the emissions of primary pollutants: carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen and volatile organic compounds, including hydrocarbons. Discussion of the various effects of these pollutants and the consequent introduction and refinement of ‘automotive emission regulations’ has not been included, nor is the

I remained in Latin America for 17 years, working for the U.S. Agency for International Development and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. Both positions were for South and Central America and I was headquartered in Costa Rica and then in Santi

MAKING A GAMBIT GAME Ep 10, Pt 2. "INTERVIEWS AND PRESENTATION"
IN EPISODE 10 OF "MAKING A GAMBIT GAME": In this, the final episode of "Making a GAMBIT Game". The "depression" game now called "Elude" has gone "gold" meaning the final prototype has been approved by the GAMBIT Staff. Team 4 will now work on promotion for the Elude game and many of the members are interviewed about their experience at GAMBIT before they deliver their final presentation of the game.
