Introduction to Chemistry
This is one of the longer (but, excellent!) videos on WatchKnow, however, the viewer will see that the video is digestable in small chunks. The video has been cut into small 'segments' or 'chapters' on the side. This is one of the free videos on Educator.com; the rest require a subscription fee.

Carnegie Observatories' Wendy Freedman On Hubble and Size of Universe
This spring, Director of the Carnegie Observatories Wendy Freedman spoke at the American Museum of Natural History's Hayden Planetarium about astronomer Edwin Hubble's discovery of the galaxies and the expansion of the universe, how astronomers measure vast distances, and how the Hubble Space Telescope is used to measure the size and age of the universe. Mike Shara, curator in the Department of Astrophysics, sat down with Freedman for an interview in the Hayden Planetarium to discuss the expansi

Joseph Grenny spoke to Googlers in Mountain View on April 14, 2011 about the book he co-authored: Change Anything: The New Science of Personal Success.
About Change Anything:
"A stunning new approach to how individuals can not only change their lives for the better in the workplace, but also their lives away from the office, including (but not limited to) finding ways to improve one's working relationship with others, one's overall health, outlook on life, and so on.
For example, why is it th
Holocaust Survivor Testimony: Avraham Aviel
Avraham Aviel was born in 1929 in Dugalishok, a Jewish farming village (today in Belarussia), to Moshe David and Sarah Mina née Lipkunsky. Moshe David was a blacksmith and Sara Mina came from a rabbinical family in Eišiškis, Lithuania.

Arab youths, revolutions, and the rise of the ‘second society’
The patterns of revolutions tend to be similar, focusing on the rise and fall of their leaders, a plunge into lawlessness, and finally a new order. Today’s movement in the Arab world is different. Sami Mahroum, Director of INSEAD’s Innovation & Policy Initiative in Abu Dhabi, explains why.

We have calculated the thermodynamic properties of monatomic fcc
crystals from the high temperature limit of the Helmholtz free energy.
This equation of state included the static and vibrational energy
components. The latter contribution was calculated to order A4 of perturbation

neighbour central force model was used. We have calculated the lattice

A contingency model of job satisfaction
The present research study was designed to test a contingency
model of job satisfaction based on participation in decision making
as the antecedent variable and job involvement as the intervening
variable. The instruments used to measure the variables were the
participation in decision making scale developed by Siegel and Ruh
(1973), the job involvement scale by Lodahl and Kejner (1965) and the
job satisfaction construct derived from Hoppock (1935).

Seven crayfish species from three genera of the subfamily Cambarinae
were electrophoretically examined for genetic variation at a total of
twenty-six loci. Polymorphism was detected primarily at three loci:
Ao-2, Lap, and Pgi. The average heterozygosities over-all loci for each
species were found to be very low when compared to most other invertebrate
species that have been examined electrophoretically.
With the exception of Cambarus bartoni, the interpopulation genetic
