1 The desert climate: An introduction
Animal life has adapted to survive in the most unlikely and inhospitable habitats. This unit looks at the surprisingly diverse desert climates throughout the world and mammals, birds, lizards and amphibians that survive there. It splits these animals into three groups according to their strategy for survival: evaders, evaporators and endurers, then discusses how these strategies work on a biochemical and physiological level.

Study Shows Importance of Proton Therapy for Childhood Cancer
Dr. David Grosshans discusses a recent study that shows how proton therapy spares healthy tissue in children with cancer. The study illustrates how proton therapy radiation is able to avoid excess radiation dose to a variety of normal structures while maintaining equal target coverage. This is important for childhood cancers because excess radiation can cause damage to the hippocampus, an area involved in learning and memory.

theorem is essentially just the average slope of the graph in a closed interval. This is just the mean (average) value theorem which states that the average slope is equal to a prime of a point c. The video is 16:47 in length and is done with a smart board and narrator.
La victoire est à qui?: maten en afmetingen

Does Weight Matter?
Using the same method for measuring friction that was used in the previous lesson (Discovering Friction), students design and conduct an experiment to determine if weight added incrementally to an object affects the amount of friction encountered when it slides across a flat surface. After graphing the data from their experiments, students can calculate the coefficients of friction between the object and the surface it moved upon, for both static and kinetic friction.
