The Battle of Antietam
The bloodiest battle of the Civil War. This video goes into detail about how the battle plans of General Lee are discovered, but the inept Northern general snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. Over 23,000 were killed and neither side won a clear cut victory. A week later the important Emancipation Proclamation was issued by Lincoln that freed the slaves in the South. Some scenes may be to intense for students.
