"Sound magic" from a trio whose name means "Journey to the West." French jazz guitarist Nguyen Le studied visual arts and philosophy before working with artists like Ornette Coleman, Ray Charles, and Mauricio Kagel. Influences from Jimi Hendrix to the traditional music of Vietnam meld harmonies from East and West to paint an Asia without borders.

The evening celebration saw the presentation of the University Research Awards, the Petro-Canada Young Innovator Award, four new awards by the Centre for Academic Leadership, and the induction of eight Concordians into the Provost's Circle of Distinction.

Venus transits the sun.
On June 5 2012, the Solar Dynamics Observatory collected images of the rarest predictable solar event--the transit of Venus across the face of the sun. This event lasted approximately 6 hours and happens in pairs eight years apart, which are separated from each other by 105 or 121 years. If you are thinking that you might eventually wish to pursue a career as a lawyer, whether a solicitor or a barrister, there are two different ways of getting the necessary qualifications. One is to study any subject at University other than Law, then do a one-year Law conversion course and finally complete the relevant vocational course to become a solicitor or a barrister. The other route is to study Law at University, typically for three years, and then take the relevant vocational course.
