Is It Really News?
A leading national newspaper has stated that the majority of the information contained in its pages is in the form of advertisements. To investigate this, portions of the local newspaper are distributed to students working in groups. The class first reaches consensus on their definitions of "news" and other general headings (sports, entertainment, etc.).
